Obey.
The Facebook is #EVIL. Unfortunately, a somewhat necessary evil if you are involved in digital strategy, marketing, social media, technology, etc. But it still is EVIL. And you should check your photo privacy status NOW.

Disable “Suggest photos of me to friends” now (via Sophos):
* Go to your Facebook account’s privacy settings.
* Click on “Customise settings”.
* Under “Things others share” you should see an option titled “Suggest photos of me to friends. When photos look like me, suggest my name”.
* Unfortunately at this point you can’t tell whether Facebook has enabled the setting or not, you have to dig deeper..
* Click on “Edit settings”.
* If Facebook has enabled auto-suggestion of photo tags you will find the option says “Enabled”.
* Change it to “Disabled” if you don’t want Facebook to work that way.
* Press “OK”.
Done. Yeeesh. Facebook has never met an automatic opt-in they didn’t like.
The Old Grey Lady’s take on #FB photo privacy. They are #EVIL.

Facebook Changes Privacy Settings to Enable Facial Recognition
Foster Kamer on the new Facebook Timeline (via soupsoup)
Short version: It’s #DogShit Design #FB
Check out that Facebook timeline. My favorite comment on Twitter from today regarding the timeline: “Now we’re going to scroll up and I’m going to show you how you’ll die.” - Mark Zuckerberg

No comment necessary.
Beyond design…#FB - A more thoughtful analysis of #Zuckerberg’s presentation. Hmmmmm…

The Facebook Chart That Freaks Google Out - (time users spend on site)
“The overhaul Facebook rolled out last week is meant, first and foremost, to keep users sticking around. But, hyperbole aside, Facebook is already crushing the rest of the Web when it comes to stickiness.
Check out this engagement chart, courtesy of Citigroup’s Mark Mahaney. It’s a neat illustration of the Web 2.0 era, and does a nice job of explaining why Google is so freaked out about Facebook, and why AOL and Yahoo seem to be in eternal turnaround mode. (Note that just a couple of years ago, someone might have thought to include Myspace in here. Remember?)”

I’ve seen similar charts before and they all bear out the Facebook’s mass 2.0 appeal.
Why the #Facebook fails ~ #mobile #SocialMedia ~ #FB’s app is useless (poor UI, slow, functionality, platform relevancy) even when it’s working - Hope they stay away from @instagram #FingersCrossed #ExpectTheWorst #squaready #instagram (Taken with Instagram)
Goodbye @instagram. You are now @Facebook EVIL. Your new Privacy T&C changes are not “a little dry” but very #FB & scary. Unless you scap your updates, I will stop posting pics (that I will not give you permission to own) & wind down my personal account. Feel free to follow & chat w/me via @dkcholo on Twitter, DanManco.Tumblr.com. Thanks everyone! I will miss seeing your pics & hope we can stay in touch through less evil social networks. ~ Nice work @kevin & @mikeyk…#InstaFail #socialmedia #photography #privacy #interwebs
